As a City of East Ridge–owned venue, Venue 1921 requires a Temporary Special Event Permit for events serving or selling alcohol within the City of East Ridge.

We understand that every venue may have different requirements, and we appreciate your partnership as we continue to establish and grow Venue 1921 as a new place to celebrate in our community.

Important: Permit Required for Every Event

The City of East Ridge Temporary Special Event Application is required for every event where alcohol will be served or sold, regardless of whether the event is private, public, nonprofit, ticketed, or otherwise.

Application Fee: $50 per event
Background Check Fee: $40 annually

Please follow all application instructions carefully to help ensure your permit can be processed without delays.

Applications may also be completed and submitted in person at City Hall at no additional submission cost.

• Standalone Disclosure Regarding Background Check

Information & Documents to Have Ready

Before beginning the application, please gather the following:

• Client information: Client name, event date, event times, and details regarding bar service

• Owner information: Information needed to complete the required background check

• Insurance: General Liability Certificate of Insurance (COI) and Liquor Liability coverage, when applicable, listing City of East Ridge and Venue 1921 at East Ridge, 1529 Tombras Avenue, East Ridge, TN 37412 as additional insured for the applicable event date

• Site Plan: Required when alcohol will be served outside of the building

• Business License: Business license number and/or a copy of the applicable permit

TABC Requirements

For ticketed, nonprofit, public, or private events with a cash bar, a TABC Special Event Permit is also required. Please ensure your client has obtained the appropriate TABC permit prior to the event.

If your business holds a TABC Liquor-by-the-Drink Catering License, you may provide a copy of that license with your City of East Ridge application instead.
